Capcom recently confirmed that a new Resident Evil Showcase would take place in October 2022, with announcements regarding both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village being made during the event. The leaker goes on to state in a follow-up tweet that the current Amazon box art is merely a placeholder, "most likely these pages are getting prepared ahead of time because pre-orders are likely going up after the Resident Evil Showcase in a few weeks". Taking to Twitter, the leaker said "RE:4 was always planned for PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Xbox Series, PC, just how they announce it publicly is a bit bizarre". However, a reliable insider by the name of AestheticGamer has suggested that Capcom always intended to release the Resident Evil 4 remake for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the official website for Resident Evil 4 still states that the title will be released for current-gen consoles, PC, and PlayStation 4. It's possible that the listing is a mistake, but Amazon UK currently allows players to pre-order the Resident Evil 4 remake for the Xbox One. It was never made clear as to why the remake wouldn't also be released for the Xbox One, but it appears as though that could be about to change.
RESIDENT EVIL 4 REMAKE POSSIBLE PC
So far, Capcom has only confirmed the title to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Resident Evil 4 remake is currently set to release on March 24th, 2023. It appears as though the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4 could also be released on Xbox One, as an Amazon UK listing appears for the previous generation of console.
